Abstract: Surface modification of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) was performed using three different organic acids as substrates. Modification was assisted with ultrasonic energy, which helped dispersion and surface modification of MWCNT. Aqueous solutions saturated of the organic acids were employed, at a temperature of 50 °C, by 8 hours. MWCNT are characterized by dispersion test at polar and non-polar solvents, finding that in polar solvent maintain dispersion by over 24 hours.
